a little bit about me

EvieLu At Home is a long time dream of mine and was started when I was sick of thinking “in the future I’ll”….and just went for it! It’s a small piece of the internet that I use to share all things motherhood. I love easy, casual fashion for your everyday life, accessible DIY projects, family friendly, healthy recipes and everything in between.

I grew up in the Chicago suburbs about 250 miles north of where I live now in the suburbs of St. Louis, Missouri. I’m married to the tall, handsome husband I dreamed of as a girl. I’m raising 3 littles, Luke (5), Evelyn (4) and Benny (1) while fixing up our forever home.

Before I became a mom, I worked as a Speech Language Pathologist, becoming a full time stay at home mom shortly after my first son was born. After becoming a stay-at-home mom, I realized my passion for connecting women, particularly moms, in order to reduce the isolation that often accompanies motherhood. I believe in easy hospitality and making my home a place where you can “come as you are” and strive to make my blog feel the same.

I have a strong village backing me, who I love dearly and could not make it through this crazy thing called “motherhood” without. My hobbies include, trying not to yell at my kids, driving my sweet mini van and when I finally have time to myself, I enjoy cooking and creating new recipes, working out, drinking wine with my girlfriends or having a beer with my hubby. I also have a slight obsession with documentaries and The Real Housewives series on Bravo.
